Back in Puerto Rico

This year I visited Puerto Rico during my birthday and surprised my Mom for Mother's Day!

It was a short visit, however, it was very exciting. I arrive in San Juan, Puerto Rico and stay in the area for a few days. During this time I visited "El Morro" ( see pictures) and on My birthday I have dinnert at the restaurant name Perla, which is he signature dining room of the recently opened Concha Hotel. . Wow! Great service and ambiance, server was very knowledgable and make sure that me and my friends enjoy dinner.

Since it was a short staty I tried to relax as much as I can, in addition the weather help me to stay in most of the time. I was surprise that it was raining about every day I was in the Island.

I did visited Old San Juan and Plaza Las Americas while in the area, then our drive to "Porta del Sol" ( This is a name given by the tourism company to the west region of the island) to surprise MOM! It was pretty much a nice road trip, we stop in Hatillo to have something ot eat and then continue our trip to Moca, Puerto Rico.

We had a blast at my family's Mother's Day Party. Thank you again to all of my lovely family!
In our last day in the island we visited some beaches( Once again it was raining most of the day) and then took my Mom and sister to Aguadilla Marriot Courtyard to visit the Casino ( Mom loves Casinos ) It was ok, so far no other Casinos has create a better impression to me like in Las Vegas.

Depart the Island from BQN, and arrive safely home. Short trip, however, I enjoy spending time wiht friends and family.

Puerto Rico Update!

The Enchanted Island continue changing.... For those who has not visit the Island in years, the "Tren Urbano" is up and running. Check the picture that was taken at Rio piedas station.
All you neede is a magnetic card, similar to the Metro card that is used in New York and other states. You can get this at the entrance of the station form a machine also like the one you get you Metro Card. If not you can ask any of the friendly people who works at the station, they are very helpful and courteous. Here is a copy of the magnetic card, which have a picture of the "Centro de Conveciones", another lace that was rcently build. I did not have the opportunity to visit or take a picture, that's why I'm including the magnetic card wiht the picture and here is a link to more infomation about it.

During my stay I was able to asist at one of the presentations of the Tourism Company" Le Lo Lai Festival. I strongly recomment this presentation that shows the real cultural flavors of the island. It is great for visitors and locals. I was very inpressed by the dancers. The presentation is excellent and a must see if you want to discover the music roots of our beautiful island, Puerto Rico.

Of course, You need to need to visit the famous Bacardi Factory. You can get the ferry from San Juan to Catano, it is inexpensive and once you get to Catano get bus or taxi to the Factory. They offer a tour of the factory where you can learn more about the production of this famous puertorrican rum. They also teach you haw to make drinks and give you complimentary drinks while you wait for your tour to beging.

We also dive while in Puerto Rico. It was a reef dive here is a picture. I wish we had more time there becasue I woudl love to go diving again.

In addition if you ever in Puerto Rico, please have dinner at "Raices". "Raices" is a restaurant that offer puerto rrican cuisine at its best. This the the place where you can get "bacalaitos", "sorullitos" and everything tha we all miss from our Island when we live far away. The staff drees on typical attire and are courteous and fiendly.

Hanging out with the Amish!

I just returned from a visit to the Amish Village in Strasburg, Pennsylvania. I went with my Mom and family to visit the Village and learn about the Amish.

You can visit the Amish Village to learn about them and get a guided house tour in a house that dates back to 1840( see pictures), which is authentically furnished with Amish furniture. In the same Village you can see a Spring House, visit the Amish Village Store, Blacksmith shop, Schoolhouse, Livestock, see the windmill and check the miniature donkeys, horses, sheep and other animals.

It is very interesting to learn about these people and their believe.
